Staff Augmentation

Overview

Staff augmentation works when the augmented engineers operate as genuine members of your team — participating in your sprint ceremonies, following your coding standards, and using your tools. That is how we approach every engagement.

Before onboarding, we conduct a technical alignment session to understand your tech stack, development workflow (branching strategy, code review process, CI/CD pipeline), communication tools (Slack, Teams, Jira, Linear), and coding conventions. Engineers receive access to your repositories, documentation, and project management tools within 48-72 hours of contract signing.

We offer three engagement models. Dedicated teams (3-8 engineers) work exclusively on your project with a technical lead who serves as the primary point of coordination. Individual contributors are placed into specific roles — senior React developer, Flutter engineer, DevOps specialist, QA automation lead — and report directly to your engineering manager. Project-based engagements have defined scope, timeline, and deliverables with a fixed or time-and-materials pricing structure.

All augmented engineers are full-time Stripe Systems employees with verified technical credentials. Selection is based on stack alignment, domain experience, and English communication proficiency. We provide a 2-week trial period — if the fit is not right, we replace the resource at no additional cost.

Communication follows your existing cadence. For teams in US or European timezones, our engineers maintain a minimum 4-hour overlap with your core working hours. Daily async updates via Slack or your preferred channel ensure visibility into progress and blockers. Weekly summary reports cover completed work, hours logged, and upcoming priorities.

IP protection is standard: all engineers sign NDAs and invention assignment agreements. Code is written in your repositories, on your infrastructure. We do not retain copies of proprietary code.
